Event Overview
Gamers8 landed in Riyadh in the summer of 2022 as the opening chapter of what the Saudi Esports Federation billed as the world's biggest gaming festival, running for eight weeks across Riyadh Boulevard. Over its run, the event drew more than a million visitors and brought together 113 international teams competing in titles like Dota 2, PUBG, Rocket League and Fortnite for a combined prize pool north of $15 million. Beyond the competitions, Gamers8 built out a full gaming city within the festival grounds — arenas, fan zones, a dedicated esports summit, and a run of live performances — aimed at putting Riyadh on the map as a serious esports hub rather than a one-off stop on the circuit.
Our Role & Delivery
Working under Sela, our team handled the AVL production across the main competition arena and surrounding zones — sound, lighting, and video systems built to hold up over eight straight weeks of live broadcast and back-to-back tournament days. The brief was less about a single big moment and more about consistency: keeping stage lighting, screens, and audio performing to broadcast standard match after match, day after day, for one of the largest gaming audiences the region had seen.
